… was one of my first thoughts when I saw the stamp set “Oh, Hello” in  Stampin’ Up!’s spring catalog. BUT then I saw sooooo many beautiful projects with it and since I wanted the oval framelits anyways – what the heck!

Also habe ich ein bisschen damit herum gespielt. Ich versuche mich gerne an Karten, bei denen nicht all zu viele Stempelsets benötigt werden – möglichst viel aus wenig heraus zu holen ist da die Devise. Aber seht selbst:

Was man gar nicht so erkennen kann ist die Zierkante unten an der Wellenkante. Ich habe nach dem Stanzen mit der Wellenkante diese noch mit der neuen Simply Scored Bordüren-Schablone verziert. Wenn ihr ganz genau hinguckt, dann läßt sich das erahnen

Der Gruß ist hier aus dem letzten Sale-A-Bration Set “Nostalgie Pur” (dem mit dem Riesenrad), aber ich habe auch eine zweite Karte zum Muttertag gemacht und dafür habe ich dann den Gruß “Für meine wunderbare Mama” aus dem Stempelset “Ein Duftendes Dutzend” (125245 (w) oder 125247 (c)) genutzt, aber natürlich vor dem Verschenken nicht mehr fotografiert.

The greeting is one of last Sale-A-Bration’s stampsets (the one with the big ferris wheel), but I also made a second card for Mother’s Day and used a greeting from the stamp set “Delightful Dozen” (122650 (w) or 122653 (c)) – but of course I forgot to take a Picture before sending it off.

Ich liebe die Farbkombination Pflaumenblau und Mattgrün. Mattgrün wird ja aus der Farbpalette genommen – sehr schade, wie ich finde!

I love the color-Combo “Perfect Plum” and “Certainly Celery”. “Certainly Celary” will not be available in the new catalog – very sad!

I can hardy believe that my “baby” just turned 7! Time is flying!

Dieses Mal stand die Geburtstagsparty ganz unter dem hippen Motto “Angry Birds” – Silas hat wie immer genau gewußt, wie die Einladungen aussehen sollen und Mama hat ihr Bestes gegeben, alle Voraussetzungen zu erfüllen, um den “Beste Mama der Welt Preis” erhalten zu können. Aber  ich musste nicht alleine basteln, sondern hatte Hilfe vom kleinen Meister persönlich, der fleißig mitgestanzt und zusammengeklebt hat bis alle Einladungen fertig waren. Und das ist dabei heraus gekommen:

This year the party had a fancy “Angry Birds” theme – and as always Silas knew exactly how he wanted the invitations to look like. Of course mommy did her best to fulfill all the requirements to pass the “best mommy in the world award”.  But  I didn’t have to craft on my own – I had help from the little master himself who helped punching and gluing until the cards were all done and ready to be send. And this is how they turned out:

Hier noch einmal der wütende Vogel von nächster Nähe – könnt Ihr erkennen, welche Stanzen alle zum Einsatz kamen? Den Hintergrund habe ich mit der BigShot und dem neuen Prägefolder “Wolkenmeer” aus dem Frühjahrskatalog von SU geprägt.

This is a close-up of the angry bird – can you see which punches we used? For the background I used my BigShot and the new cloud-embossing folder from SU’s spring seasonal catalog.

Und natürlich musste der Kuchen zum Themen-Look passen – oh Mann, das war eine Arbeit, denn ich hatte nur eine Spritztülle und musste diese ständig austauschen und auswaschen – aber nach durchwachter Nacht habe ich es dann doch noch geschafft und das Geburtstagskind war glücklich.

And of course the cake had to fit the fancy party theme – oh my goodness – that took quite some effort since I was working with only one decorating tip – I had to constantly exchange it and wash it in order to switch the different colors – but at least it worked well enough to make my birthday boy all happy!

I hope you all had a woderful first day of spring – it really doesn’t feel like spring here at all! Berlin is wrapped in a white blanket of snow – I wish it had looked like this for Christmas – but now that it is almost Easter?

Im Frühlings-Katalog gibt es die neuen süßen Windrädchen – die musste ich gleich für ein paar kleine ”Dankeschön”-Geschenke für liebe Freunde ausprobieren.

In the spring catalog is a new “pinwheel” die – I just had to give it a try for a few Little “Thank you” Goodies I made for a couple of friends

Außerdem kam das Sale-A-Bration Stempelset “Gemusterte Grüße” zum Einsatz und das SAB Designer Papier “Bunter Basar”.

Die Mini-Milchkartons sind mit Farbkarton in “Petrol” und “Mango” gewerkelt und für die Elefanten habe ich Stempelkissen in “Himbeerrot” und “Petrol” benutzt und Stampin’Write Marker in “Mango” und “Mandarinorange” für die kleine Blume und den Gruß.

For the mini-milk cartons I used cardstock in “Pool Party” and “Summer Starfruit” and the Elephants were stamped in “Rich Razzleberry” and “Pool Party” and I used Stampin’ Write Markers in “Summer Starfruit” and “Tangerine Tango” for the little flower and the Sentiment.

My dad had his birthday last week and of course I wanted to come up with something special for him. Years ago he used to have one of the coolest sweet water fish tanks you can imagine – it was gorgeous, with a ton of diffrent plants and fish and I always loved to watch how much love and effort he put into taking care of it. The fish tank is long gone but I wanted the box for my present to be sort of a reminder of it. So I wrecked my brain and after quite some tinkering I came up with this – tatá!:

Ein recht unverwüstliches und vorallem nicht pflegebedürftiges Mini-Aquarium in Deckel einer Pralinenschachtel.

A pretty resistend and easy to take care of Mini-Fishtank in a lid for a box of pralines.

Die Schachtel habe ich mit DinA4 Farbkarton in Petrol nach den Maßen der Pralinenschachtel gewerkelt, in der das eigentliche Geschenk steckte – Ingwer Pralinen von einer Berliner Schokoladenmanufaktur. (Leider habe ich vergessen, davon ein Foto zu machen!) Das “Aquarium” ist eine Art Einsatz, der oben in die Schachtel auf die Pralinen gelegt wurde und dann habe ich alles mit einem Deckel aus Klarsichtfolie verschlossen.

I created the box with Island Indigo cardstock according to the measurements of the box that my present came in – a box full of  ginger pralines from a chocolate maufacturer here in Berlin. (I forgot to add a picture of the content of the box!) The “fish tank” is kind of and insert that you put on top of the pralines inside the box and then you close the box with a lid made out of clear plastic foil.

Zum Einsatz kamen drei Stempelsets: Für die Meeresbewohner & den Anker das Stempelset ”By the Tide” aus dem aktuellen Frühjahrskatalog von Stampin’ Up! und das HappyBirthday-Banner ist aus dem Stempelset “Itty Bitty Banners”, das man derzeit während der Sale-A-Bration kostenlos ergattern kann. Der Hintergrund ist mit weißer Craft-Stempelfarbe und dem “Bläschen-Stempel” aus dem Set “Confetti” gestempelt.

I used three different stamp sets: For the sea creatures & the ancor I used “By The Tide” from Stampin’ Up!s spring catalog and the Birthday greeting is from the stamp set “Itty Bitty Banners”. During Sale-A-Bration you can actually get this one for free!. The background was stamped with white Craft ink and the “bubble-stamp” from the stamp set “Confetti”. 

Die Korallen sind auf Klarsichtfolie mir weiß heißembosst und ausgeschnitten worden. Die Meerestiere habe ich mit StazOn Farbe mehrfach gestempel, mit dem Aquapainter & Farbe von diverse Stempelkissen ausgemalt, ausgeschnitten und dann habe ich mit Hilfe von Stampin’ Dimensionals versucht, die Tierchen etwas 3-dimensional erscheinen zu lassen. Und zum Zubinden habe ich dann noch Kordel in Petrol benutzt.

The corals were heat embossed with white on clear plastic foil. For the sea creatures I used StazOn ink and stamped the images a couple of times before coloring them with diffrent inkpads and an Aqua Painter. Then I cut them out and used Stampin’ Dimensionals to create kind of a 3D look. For wrapping the box I used Bakers Twine in Island Indigo.

Ich habe eine ganze Nacht gesessen um die Schachtel fertig zu werkeln – wie immer mehr Aufwand als erwartet, aber ich hoffe, er hat sich gefreut. Mir hat es jedenfalls viel Spaß gemacht

I sat a whole night to finish this box – as always it took longer than expected but I hope he like it. I at least had a whole lot of fun creating it

..whatever happened  to Christmas?! I can only tell you that we’ve been sick a whole lot and even until today we seem to be inviting all sorts of viruses into our home. The worst was seeing my little girl so sick and stuffy that she had a hard time breathing. But she is a strong little lady and survived it all. Now the boys are still exchanging all the sicknesses they can pick up in school and kindergarten but I keep hoping that there will be better times and we will all be healthy someday! I think it’s time for spring and some nicer weather!

Aber jetzt hab ich genug gestöhnt – wird Zeit, dass ich Euch mal wieder etwas Kreatives zeige. Meine Kreativität hat im Dezember und Januar zwar mächtig gelitten, aber wenigstens zum Valentinstag musste ich doch wieder aktiv werden und meinem Mann eine Karte werkeln:

What did I learn from my past months experiences? That you should start making your Christmas cards before flu season hits! This year one of my New Year’s resolutions is to start in summer already – oh well – but we all know what way to often happens to New Year’s resolutions! I hope you all had a beautiful first Sunday of this year’s Christmas Season – we call it the First Advent – and I hope you are already full of the wonderful Christmas Spirit! Well, quite frankly, I am stil working on the Christmas Spirit part but my kids are definitely helping. Yesterday we wrote letters to Santa Claus – Silas who is in 1st grade now wrote his letter all by himself this year – very cute and I couldn’t resist on preserving his letter for the future before sending it to the North Pole (You might not quite get the entertainment factor this letter holds since it is written in something close to German – but maybe you can enjoy the artistic factor of it )

Und was so ein echter Sohn einer Stampin’ Up! Demonstratorin ist, der muss natürlich auch ein bisschen stempeln und stanzen – die Briefmarke ist doch echt passend, oder?

And since he is the son of a true Stampin’Up! demonstrator he had to also use some stamps and punches – isn’t the stamp just perfect?

Inspiriert von meinem 6-jährigen Sohn habe ich mich dann an meine Weihnachtskarten gemacht – die Idee hatte ich schon lange, bin nur bisher nicht zur Umsetzung gekommen. Aber wie immer habe ich mal wieder feststellen müssen, das die Idee zwar wirklich gut funktioniert, für die Massenproduktion aber völlig ungeeignet ist, da jede Karte viel zu aufwändig ist. Dieses Werk wird also wohl ein Unikat bleiben und ich muss mir für meine Weihnachtskarten etwas anderes überlegen

Inspired by my 6 year old son I finally started the production of our family Christmas cards – well – I already had the idea for the layout long time ago but never got started on really creating it. Today I finally got to it but had to realize yet again (like many other times before) that it is totally unfit for mass production since it is way too elaborate and time consuming. So I guess it will remain a one of a kind and I will have to come up with something else for my Christmas card production

We celebrated Thanksgiving today and I spent the last 2 days  in the kitchen getting ready for the big feast and – yay! – it’s done! The turkey was juicy and tender, the sweet potatoes yummy, the green bean casserole turned out okay even though I wasn’t able to find any Condensed Cream of Mushroom soup here in Good Old Germany. The pumpkin pie turned out super delicious (*tooting my own horn here ). It was yummy and good and I’m glad that it won’t happen again until next year . We were only 4 adults, 2 kids and a baby and I have so many left overs that I don’t think I will have to worry about cooking dinners for the next couple of days!

Durch die ganzen Vorbereitungen und die Vor- bzw. Nachbereitunge eines weitern Workshops bin ich gar nicht zum bloggen gekommen und ihr habt seit Halloween nichts mehr von mir gehört. Asche auf mein Haupt. Das muss sich jetzt aber ändern.

Ich hatte bei einer Sammelbestellung 10 dieser tollen Metallboxen so probeweise mitbestellt – ich hatte noch keine Ahnung was mich da eigentlich erwartet  - und jetzt bereue ich es schon, nur so wenige bestellt zu haben. In so einer Box und mit ein bisschen Kreativität wird aus einer einfachen Tafel Schokolade ein tolles kleines Geschenk.

To purchase these little metal boxes I took part in a group order and just tried them with an order of only 10 – I wanted to see what they looked like first- and now I already regret having bought just so few. In a box like these and with a little bit of creativity a simple bar of chocolate can turn into a cute little present.

So  Halloween is really over now! We carved the pumpkins and our children were super excited about all the candy they were able to “beg” for on Halloween night.

Da meine Söhne beide in eine internationale Schule bzw. Kita gehen, ist Halloween da eine ganz große Sache. Dieses Jahr habe ich das erste Mal eine Kleinigkeit für die Lehrer gebastelt, die ich Euch gerne zeigen wollte:

Weil ich in meiner Praxis am ”Gruseltag”  auch noch meine wöchentliche Team-Besprechung hatte, haben meine Angestellten auch so einen gefüllten ”Gruselbonbon” bekommen und die Süßigkeiten waren für unsere kleinen Patienten, die zu ihrer logopädischen Behandlung kamen :)

Since I also was holding my weekly team-meeting with all of my employeed in the practice on Halloween day, they also received one of these “spooky treats” and the sweets sourrounding them were given to our little patients who came for their speech therapy sessions.

Schade, dass der ganze Spuk so schnell wieder vorbei ist. Nächstes Jahr werde ich mich früher auf den Spaß vorbereiten – Ich habe noch sooooo viele Ideen!

To bad  that the fun is already over again. Next year I will be ready in time – I have soooo many more ideas!

Today I’ll show you my second project for last weeks workshop: A double slider chocolate wrapper. I already showed you one for Mother’s Day including a link to a video tutorial. And with the new stamp set “Googly Ghouls” this kind of chocolate wrapper is just perfect for Halloween. Why? Let me show you:

Das ist der “erste Eindruck” einer ganz “normalen” Schokoladenverpackung. Aber zieht man an der Lasche “Grusel Grüße”, dann….

So here is your “first impression” of a pretty “normal” chocolate wrapper. But once you pull on the tag with the lable “Treats for Boo” , then…

“Boo!” Ich bin ja eigentlich nicht so ein Halloween-Fan und hatte eigentlich nicht vor, damit anzufangen, aber dieses Stempelset ist einfach zu niedlich!

“Boo!” I really never cared for Halloween and had no intention of starting to create anything for it – but – this stamp set is just way too cute!

Und dann noch die Wackelaugen, die Stampin’ Up! jetzt im Herbst-Winterkatalog hat – für nur 2,95€! Da konnte ich nicht widerstehen

Ich habe Euch eine Liste mit allen Materialien und den dazugehörigen Bestellnummern angefügt. Der Mechanismus läßt sich natürlich beliebig auf alle möglichen Farben, Motive usw. übertragen. Ich hoffe, meine Anweisungen machen Sinn - solltet Ihr Fragen habe, dann meldet Euch und ich werde versuchen, alle Unklarheiten zu beseitigen

I created a written tutorial again with a list of all materials needed. (only in German though!) Feel free to use the card mechanism with all sorts of CS, DP or stamp sets.
